Substitute positions available with our Early Childhood Education Center at Sunrise Family Resource Center, Inc., the local Parent/Child Center and NAEYC accredited Early Care and Education program in Bennington, Vermont.

The ideal candidate will be able to work easily with our safe and nurturing environment, have knowledge of trauma-informed practices, work well in a team atmosphere and provide education and support to parents.

This is a part-time, temporary position and experience working with children six weeks to three years and their parents is preferred.

Math Tutor


Sunrise Family Resource Center is seeking a part-time math tutor for our Opportunities program.  Opportunities is an alternative high school completion program providing group and individualized instruction to pregnant, parenting and at-risk teens and youth.  EOE

The tutor will work closely with the program coordinator/head teacher.  She/he will be responsible for support 5-10 students of varying levels of ability.  We seek a compassionate, outgoing and easy-going person who will inspire and encourage students to do their best and complete school.  The position is five hours per week with possible substitute hours available.

Requirements:  Bachelor's Degree in Science or Math.  A strong candidate will possess a thorough understanding of and commitment to emergent curriculum, flexibility and the ability to work closely with colleagues in an informal social services agency setting; an understanding of the effects of poverty and trauma on individuals; exceptional classroom management skills; experience with at risk youth; familiarity with Ruby Payne's "Bridges Out of Poverty" a plus.
